Lonesome George
Population: 1
The last living Geochelone Nigra Abingdoni of the Pinta Island Tortoise family affectionately known as Lonesome George.
He has been moved to the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island where scientists have been attempting to breed it with female sub species. Although eggs have been produced, none hatched.
It’s a lonely world when you’re the last known specie of your kind.
Stay strong my friend.
